Interference problem
發問:
A light (wavelength = 500 nm) is used to view two point objects that are 900m away. Assume human eye has a circular aperture of diameter 3.5 mm. By considering the Rayleigh's criterion, determine the minimum distance between two objects such that they are considered as separate.
Angular resolution = 1.22 x (500 x 10^-9)/(3.5x10^-3) radians = 1.74 x 10^-4 radians Hence, minimum distance of the two objects such that they are observed as separated = 900 x (1.74 x 10^-4) m = 0.157 m
